SMIDE was created
in 1950 by Albert LE MOAL, father of the present
director, Martine LE MOAL-BOCHET. The main activity
of the company was the manufacturing of leads,
the cutting and machining of insulation parts
for transformers and phones, the settings of leads,
screen printing and engraving.
At the end of the
1960's, the company decided to launch a
new activity, precision machining.
